There’s no better way to tell the world you’re a total man than to grow a gnarly mustache. Think about it. Picture that distant uncle you have, the one who wears flannel and sits on his porch yelling at any passerby. You know what he has? A stache and he who has the stache, holds all the power. There have been some amazing mustaches in gaming history and for this week’s round of Nerd Wars! we want to determine who’s got the best stache of them all. Careful, things might get a little hairy.

So we’ve been playing a ridiculous amount of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair lately and it’s reminded us of how much we flippin’ love this series. Seriously, we’ve been grinding this game harder than a shorty in a Ludacris video. We all have our favorite Castlevania games, but this week we need you to choose your favorite Vampire Killer. It’s going to be a difficult decision, but it’s one that needs answered, but enough talk. Have at you!

If you haven’t tried Harmony of Despair and you love Castlevania, you should definitely give it a download on the Xbox Live Arcade. It’s a solid game that references all your favorite characters and games from the series.

We received some rather unsettling news earlier this week. The long-awaited, Aliens: Colonial Marines game was released and welcomed with some horrifically brutal criticism. We’ve seen reviews as low as a single star out of five and this isn’t just from a few negative Nancy’s, no, this is from almost everyone who’s played it.

To get the awful taste of this game out of our mouths, we thought we’d use this week’s round of Nerd Wars! to get your votes for your favorite film in the Alien franchise. And no, we aren’t going to include any of the Aliens vs Predator movies because those were awful and just downright offensive to fans of both franchises.

The-Boys-are-Back

We love Gears of War. No matter how much people complain about the terrible writing and unrelatable characters, Gears will always hold a special place in our hearts. It’s a brutal game in every sense of the word and that has to count for something. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, we want to know who your favorite COG soldier is. Is it Captain Do-Rag himself? Mountain Dew and gaming go together like Simon and Garfunkel. It’s just a magical match made in heaven. There’s nothing better than sitting down with some bro’s or bro-ette’s, crackin’ open an ice-cold Dew, and delving deep into some serious gameage. We have no doubt that Mountain Dew is amazing. There are only a few short days until the year 2012 comes to an end. There have been some phenomenal releases in gaming, not just from the big developers, but the indie guys as well. Devil May Cry is the definitive action-arcade juggler series when it comes to motorcycles, twin pistols, and badass dudes with red jackets and white hair. The newest entry, DmC, with the non-white haired Dante is coming out soon (January 15th in fact) and actually looks really awesome. And while it’s apparently the new thing to reboot franchises these days, we here like to hold onto the classics. So which classic Devil May Cry was your personal fave?

We thought we’d make this week’s round of Nerd Wars! super. There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Dragonball Z is the greatest TV series ever created, but there have been heated debates over who is the best Super Saiyan (and that doesn’t include all the lame fusion characters). We need your help and your votes to finish this fight once and for all. Oh, what’s that Vegeta? His power level is over what?

We also have irrefutable evidence that Super Saiyans are in fact, real.

We are officially two weeks into the launch of the Wii U and it’s doing very well. If you’ve been looking for one, you already know most places are sold out and if you’re awesome like us, then you already bought one. In the first week Nintendo reported that over 400,000 units were sold. Not too shabby for a new launch. If you’ve managed to get your hands on a Wii U, we want to know what your favorite exclusive is so far. Let the Nerd Wars! begin!
