There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Arma 2 mod, Day Z, is a trmendous success. It’s approaching nearly one million unique users, 500,000 of which started within the last month and creator Dean Hall is actively looking for ways to maintain this momentum. A few weeks ago a friend of mine suggested I try Day Z. He knew of my tremendous infatuation with the undead and my love for survival-horror games and insisted that I give this a whirl. So I did, without any hesitation. I went home that same night and downloaded Arma 2 and all the expansion packs from Steam. From there, I headed over to the official Day Z site and downloaded the mod. (I would highly recommend using the auto launcher program from the developer’s website. It makes updating and maintaining the game incredibly easy.) After the installation of the mod and a few quick updates, I was ready to begin my perilous adventures into the land of Day Z.
