Deadlight is Now Free on Xbox Live Games with Gold

Deadlight-No-Escape-Teaser-Trailer_poster-1024x576Today is the 17th of April so you know what that means! That’s right; Xbox Live Games with Gold has released another game for free. This time around it is the survival horror game Deadlight

In Deadlight, the 2D sidescroller from the indie studio Tequila Works, players will take on the role of Randall Wayne, a man searching for his family across a 1986 Seattle, in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The game consists of puzzles that the player must solve while attempting to avoid the many “Shadows” (zombies) that they will encounters. Combat is possible, which the use of melee attacks and firearms (ammunition is very limited), but players are advised to avoid the Shadows as much as possible, and only engage them in combat when it is otherwise unavoidable.

Deadlight received mixed reviews, with many critics praising the art direction of graphics, atmosphere and plot, but criticizing the game’s controls, brevity and linearity. If you are looking to kill time with a new game but still want to save money (free things are always a great way to save), then give Deadlight a try.

Normally priced at $14.99 on the Xbox Marketplace, Deadlight will remain free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers until the 30th of April.

  1. The game is ok, it’s a nice side-scroller “zombie” game. The only replay value I would see to it is if you missed some of the achievements for gamerscore but other then that it feels like a play once then forget it, but for the price of free it’s definately worth picking up. The Rat makes the game for me
