Behold, the greatest jack-o-lantern ever made:
At least until someone gets Super Mario Bros. on a pumpkin. Happy Halloween!

In the wake of Hurricane/Super Storm Sandy, comes the news that Disney has bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion. In all honesty, I thought this was a joke, come on, $4 billion? I know it’s Star Wars, but still. Why is a gaming blog going on about this though? Well, because this also means that LucasArts, the gaming arm of George Lucas’ evil empire, was included in the deal. Begging the question, what does this mean for long neglected, legendary games, such as Grim Fandango?
Not so legendary, but still really good games, like Metal Warriors?
And of course, Star Wars games, represented by, my personal favorite, neglected, really good game, Tie Fighter?
It’s Friday and that means, Friday fun videos! First up, we have a 13 minute beautifully animated prequel/intro video to the recently released, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward:
Next, we keep with the anime vibe, for better or worse, with a 9 minute preview of the Mass Effect direct to dvd movie, Paragon Lost. Starring James Vega and blood:
Wow, two anime clips on one Friday, and long ones to boot. How about a nice chaser. Check out the trailer for what might be the most manly game ever created, Dudebro II:
Happy Friday every-BRO!
This is going to be a tough call. There are some amazing platformers out there and many people have strong opinions on their favorites. Some of the greatest games of all-time are platformers and for this week’s Nerd Wars!, we’d like to take a little time to give this genre some well deserved attention.
It’s time to slow things down a bit. This one is for all the lovers… of Friday. Yes, once again it’s time for some Friday videos, first up, as you may have guessed, is all about love. A man, a woman, and the corpses left in the wake of their super weapons. From the mind of Michael Shanks, comes When Gordon Met Chell:
I liked this one a lot, but I couldn’t help but notice something about Gordon Freeman. Something I never noticed before.
Ummm… Moving on, the upcoming non-Pixar CGI film, Wreck-it Ralph, has just released a trailer for one of the in-movie games called, Hero’s Duty. Hat tip to IGN for this one:
Finally, we’ve featured the duo, Sam and Max, before but this might be their most disturbing yet. Behold, Mario and Princess Peach’s fractured fairy tale:
Sorry this was so late today. I’ll let Ron Swanson explain over the campfire:
Happy Friday everyone!
It’s that magic time of the week, where we take a some time to get to know our audience a little bit better. Everyone has their favorite games and franchises, but those are useless without a solid platform to experience them on. Let’s all take do our part and help figure out what machine is the master of gaming.
Recently PETA featured a parody game in retaliation to the release of Pokemon Black and White 2. In this riveting adventure you can “help PETA free Pikachu and his Pokemon friends as they struggle for Pokemon liberation.” It sounds awful and contrived, we know. While we understand the ridiculous parallels this organization is trying to make, we also feel this is a lame attempt for the group to get some easy publicity from a popular franchise. If you’d like to waste your time, feel free to go play Pokemon Black and Blue.
