Are you still there? Cowering, waiting, watching, hoping for the 3 day weekend to start? I am, well I would if I had an office job but I do freelance work in various industries so I have no weekends, sadness. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy Friday Fun videos! It doesn’t, does it? Sephiroth knows what I mean when I talk about office work, amiright!?!?!

Dragon’s Dogma – Japan’s Western RPG

Dragon’s Dogma, Capcom’s medieval action RPG, was released yesterday and I’ve been playing it every free moment I have. We here at whatsyourtagblog.com are no strangers to the RPG genre (you can check out Mileson’s Diablo III review, as well you should) so it came as a surprise when we heard Capcom, of all companies, was making a medieval RPG. Even more surprising is not the fact that Dragon’s Dogma is good, but just how revolutionary it is, not only for Capcom, but for the genre as a whole. Action RPG’s as of late have mostly been dominated by the western market with titles like Skyrim, Fable, and Diablo. Now before you get your panties in a bunch, I know, Diablo and Skyrim aren’t technically “action” RPGs, but since they don’t use the turn-based battle system commonly found in pretty much every JRPG, they lean more to the action side of the table. “So Japan made an RPG that wasn’t turn based, big whoop, why should I care?” Japan has always been more experimental than America with it’s games, and we’d be fools to not notice our own shortcomings. Diablo 3 Review

You can’t argue the fact that Diablo 3 has been one of the most anticipated games of all time. It was literally the most pre-ordered game ever, which is a pretty incredible feat, considering the enormous push for pre-orders these days. I’ve patiently waited nearly a decade for the next installment in the franchise and now it’s finally, officially, and undoubtedly here. After playing feverishly for the last week, almost to the point of addiction, I think it’s just about time to give my two cents on Diablo 3.

Welcome again to the latest installment of Retro Revisited! In honor of Dragon’s Lair being released on the XBLA earlier this week, we here at whatsyourtagblog.com are going to take a look back at another game from the wonderful genre that was Interactive Movies!

Brain Dead 13, first released on the 3DO and later ported to Windows and Playstation, is the story of Lance Galahad, a video game junkie and computer repairman. Well, actually… its more about watching ol’ Lance die in every way imaginable. See, Lance was hired by the disembodied brain of Dr. Nero Neruosis (uh-huh…) to fix his super computer (Of course). Little did Lance know that brains don’t carry cash or enjoy being called “average“ world dominators. So once again it’s Friday and that means fun videos. I don’t expect these to be watched since you’re all most likely off playing Diablo III for fun on this Friday. Hey! That’s a great way to introduce our first video. Have you found Whimsyshire yet?

Next up, if you didn’t already know Community is one of the best sitcoms on tv and in their third to last episode of the season they went Full SNES Jacket (well 80% SNES Jacket). I’d say the whole episode is worth watching but every episode of Community is worth watching, enjoy the Mega Man inspired intro:
